About Dad

John was born on November 13, 1936, the 3rd child and second son of Lewis Lee and Edith Lenora Coberley Charles, in Kiowa, Barber County, Kansas. They family stayed in Kiowa for a short time, John grew up in and around Galena, He did not finish High School, he opted for a stay in the US ARMY, My Dad once said of my Mom, He knew when he was a little boy, that he and mom were going to be together, they dated off and on, Finally after a long road they did end up together for 40 years they loved and laughed together and had 3 children.  Laura, John, Jr and Julie.

After Dad's Passing I found out that his dad was not always the nicest man were my dad was concerned, It explained a lot of things that we went though, My dad's life had been troubled from the start and I never knew why until I asked the right question of the right person, Rest Easy Dad, I understand now, All is ok, I wish we would have had a chance to know each other after all the anger was gone.
