Did you ever hear a story of a person who for some reason just disappeared from the family, One day they were there living there life and the next day from some unknown reason there is a void did they run away, were they forced to leave, what happened to them...

There is not a lot known about Juarez's life, not much of a paper trail, I think he was a fine gentleman, with problems and issues like all of us face every day, He lived his life so that it would be difficult but, not impossible to find him.

Juarez's family is connected with mine though his mother (The Weakley Family)  This page is about Juarez and the connection with him, His mother and father and brothers and sisters have all been accounted for, he has now too but, it took a lot of time and searching and digging, wore out several shovels...

Juarez Mexico Tindall, was born on January 28, 1876 to Alexander Clay and Arabella (Weakley) Tindall in Lowell, Cherokee County, Kansas, There are no records of him being in any trouble with the law, Juarez married Cora Eva Hathaway on December 18, 1898, Cora was born December 2, 1875 to John Lyon and Sidney (Reed) Hathaway in Troy, Crawford County, Pennsylvania, This marriage was blessed with a daughter the following year, Beryl Ina Tindall date of birth October 16, 1899 born in Baxter Springs, Cherokee County, Kansas for those that do not know Baxter and Lowell are about in block apart in distance, so either one is very easy to find. For a long time, there was nothing else to be found on this little family...

Juarez became a subject that Myself, my mom and a wonderful Lady name Pat all became consumed with, one day while at the Cherokee County Courthouse looking at records for another family member, out of the blue a divorce record popped out for Tindall, Cora & Juarez, a divorce was granted on March 4, 1907, Cora had filed saying that Juarez had left her and the child they had. sadly we will never know the whole story as to why that was filed, after all the time of searching for Juarez was he going to be a total jerk, leaving his family and running away, like I said before we will never know all the reasons why the divorce was granted for that reason.

More information started popping up...

Little things started to pop out of the blue, Cora's name was found in a article listing School Teachers for Baxter Springs, Kansas, the name was spelled Cora Tyndall, still the same person the name was spelled all kinds of ways several times Cora was spelled Dora, there were court records showing that Cora & Juarez had defaulted on a loan for there home, and it was being taken over, that record does have both Cora and Juarez's Signature on it.

With so little information to go on, I would make up stories as to what really happened to Juarez, some where good and it would kept mom and pat entertained  for hours With no more information to be found we had hit a brick wall, a short time later another bit of information was found, Beryl Tindall was listed on the 1910 census record as living with her grandparents John & Sidney Hathaway, More questions where was Cora, Had she passed away no death records had been found yet, Some when we asked about this said Cora may have left her daughter with her parents to remarry, Why would she leave her child when she filed for divorce based on the fact that Juarez had left them both, At that time no marriage records had been found to say she remarried, either under the name Tindall/Tyndall or Her maiden name of Hathaway. There was illness going around about that time, and with a rumor of a mass burial in one of our local cemeteries it is possible that Cora passed without any kind of notice being made about her death.  Where did these three people go.

One day while playing on the internet, (something I love) I found a listing for Beryl Tindall with mother's name being listed as Cora, You bet I jumped on it...

Beryl Tindall, living with her grandparents in Arkansas in 1910; Beryl married Leonard Stovall on July 19, 1924, in Oklahoma, (Parents of Leonard are James and Nora Stovall), Beryl and Leonard became parents to Rachel Mary Stovall on September 24, 1925 in Fairland, Ottawa County, Oklahoma, At this post we do not have any additional information on Rachel,  Beryl & Leonard's marriage did not last long they divorced on September 22, 1925. We did find some additional information for Leonard He was born on March 29, 1898 in Ottawa County, Oklahoma, He death date is listed as 1941, he was just 43 years old. Burial took place at Evergreen Cemetery, Grady County, Oklahoma.

Beryl's second marriage was to Joseph Kincaid Boiler taking place on September 16, 1926 in Okmulgee, Okmulgee County, Oklahoma, (Joseph's parents are Cyrus & Mary B Boiler) Joseph Boiler was born on August 28, 1891 in Griswold, Cass County, Iowa.  and passed on November 11, 1949 in Fayetteville, Washington County, Arkansas Burial at the Fayetteville National Cemetery. His Military Stone reads

 Joseph K. Boiler
Iowa
CPL MTC
World War 1
August 28, 1891
November 11, 1949

Beryl Ina Tindall Stovall Boiler passed away on July 13, 1969 in Fayetteville, Washington County, Arkansas, and is buried beside her husband Joseph Boiler at the Fayetteville National Cemetery in Fayetteville, Washington County, Arkansas. where is her daughter, has she passed at this posting no one is sure, (we know now, update towards bottom of page) don't go there yet, you will miss Juarez being found...

Before going on...

You have to understand the importance of this next section, It was a long time in coming Juarez Mexico Tindall has been found sometime after he and Cora's divorce perhaps before, (Divorce papers say that Juarez abandon his wife and child, Divorces are cruel so we will never know if it was true or not). The divorce was in 1907, and most places you search records on for Juarez has his death date as being in 1907 or 1908, I believe this is when he dropped from site maybe on purpose maybe he did not mean for it to be never heard from again...

In searching for Juarez, long before we found anything else mom had found a death record for a man with a name that was close, we did find some records showing that Juarez was often listed a JM or Jim, there was this man in California, but we could not at that time prove the record was Juarez, Then this amazing thing happened the Draft Cards became public, Yes Juarez was found and he was that man in California, Juarez had either legally changed his name or perhaps since everyone was calling him James he just kept it.

I knew that when we did find him, it would be his death record or burial spot, it was still sad to find him already dead, I know it doesn't make much sense but, I one of those strange people hoping for the impossible, after all he would have been over 100 years old.

Juarez Mexico Tindall was living in Campbell, Santa Clara County, California and working on a ranch by the name of Kuhlmann, that ranch is not listed as a working ranch now. From what we learned from his Obit, Juarez loved children, and had invented the machine that accidental killed him on August 6, 1940,  According to the death Certificate it is very unlikely that he knew what hit him. The machine had crushed him.  Juarez had lots of family including a daughter and at this time a grand-daughter it is unknown if Beryl or Rachel knew where he was, I mention this fact because Juarez is buried in a pauper's grave, inquires were made to see if he could have a headstone place, because of the pauper status there are several others buried with him, We do know the plot number and space, It would have been wonderful to honor this man with a tombstone.

Rest in peace Juarez, We will never know if you left your family on purpose, a fight maybe with the family or maybe to get a fresh start after your divorce, whatever the reason you never made it back home, But now other family members will know what happened.

- Updates - 2009 -

Thanks to some wonderful people at the Random Acts of Kindness web sites, I now know more information about Cora, Beryl, Rachel and a second marriage and 2nd child for Cora also a Marriage and Child for Rachel....

I knew where Beryl had been buried but, I just wanted more information, I wanted to know where her daughter was, did Juarez and Cora have any more children

Beryl obit listed her daughter's married name as Mrs. Wade Lynch, (yes research is happening now) it stated that there was a granddaughter, no name though that is alright I am used to hard searching, and the surprising item listed on the obit a sister named Marjorie, oh they did have another child, But what for the rest before that is what you think, Now because Rachel could still be living I am not going to post where it says she lived at that time. It listed Marjorie as living in Aurora, IL; well again I just jumped on it and got very lucky, because Marjorie was found in about 2 hours. She was born in Los Angeles, California on July 13, 1908 to Cora and Maxim Franklin. Cora was in California, Did she know Juarez was there too, we just don't know but she had been married to Maxim in 1907 shortly after her divorce from Juarez, In finding Marjorie I found out she also lived in El Paso, TX Were I found a death Certificate for Cora Hathaway Franklin, She passed on April 14, 1926, Her body was shipped to Miami, Ok (Ottawa County) for burial. One of the biggest Cemeteries in Miami is G.A.R. well there is no record of her being buried there, the caretaker also told us that she could very well be buried there due to the fact that in 1928 all the burial records were destroyed in a fire.  And he had several unknown graves, he suggested that we go to the library there in Miami where old records were listed you know those places Genealogy Society's, off we went we did not have a lot of hope we went in with a Copy of Cora's death certificate and it was looked up and guess what Cora is buried in an Unmarked grave at G.A.R. Cemetery just like Juarez, unmarked but, not forgotten or not cared about.  Sadly there is no way that we will be able to ever find her unless her Granddaughter Rachel (if still living) or Rachel's daughter (if still living)  remember where she is buried.

Marjorie Franklin, Cora's second daughter lived in California, El Paso Texas and went on to just outside of Chicago, IL, She never married and had no children, and is buried in Rosehill Cemetery Chicago, her father Maxim is listed as passing in 1938 however we are still researching him and do not have positive information on him, Rachel's husband is/was Wade Lynch we have found a death record for a man by that name in the same area that they were listed as living from Beryl's obit. however again more research is being done, to positively ID him. There is so much more to find on this family that started out as 3 people. Rest in Peace Juarez, Cora, Beryl you have all been found

September 2009 Update

Cora's parents and sister are also buried at G.A.R. Cemetery, unknown if they are in marked graves, but, as soon as we can, going back to the Cemetery, and find them, we are getting closer and closer to getting this little family all together.

Thank you for taking the time to read the story, There is still much more to find on Juarez's story and I will keep this page updated as I find out more Information. If you are a family member, Please email me and lets connect, there is so much we can learn from each other

Have you ever wondered why people search marriage and death records, census records that don't make much sense with dates and ages, that sometimes just can't be right, why even though there are often more questions than answering in finding those records, Why they spend hours in cemeteries, to not find the tombstone they are looking for because that stone was so old and fragile that it is gone now or maybe one was never placed on the grave,  Why ?

Please read the little story below and you will know....

Why Do we Do it Explained Below...

The Story Tellers.....

We are the chosen. My feelings are in each family there is one who seems called to find the ancestors. To put flesh on their bones and make them live again, to tell the family story and to feel that somehow they know and approve. To me, doing genealogy is not a cold gathering of facts but, instead, breathing life into all who have gone before.

We are the story tellers of the tribe. All tribes have one. We have been called as it were by our genes. Those who have gone before cry out to us: Tell our story. So, we do. In finding them, we somehow find ourselves.

How many graves have I stood before now and cried? I have lost count. How many times have I told the ancestors you have a wonderful family you would be proud of us?

How many times have I walked up to a grave and felt somehow there was love there for me? I cannot say.

It goes beyond just documenting facts. It goes to who am I and why do I do the things I do? It goes to seeing a cemetery about to be lost forever to weeds and indifference and saying I can't let this happen.

The bones here are bones of my bone and flesh of my flesh. It goes to doing something about it. It goes to pride in what our ancestors were able to accomplish. How they contributed to what we are today. It goes to respecting their hardships and losses, their never giving in or giving up, their resoluteness to go on and build a life for their family.

It goes to deep pride that they fought to make and keep us a Nation. It goes to a deep and immense understanding that they were doing it for us.

That we might be born who we are. That we might remember them. So we do. With love and caring and scribing each fact of their existence, because we are them and they are us. So, as a scribe called,

I tell the story of my family. It is up to that one called in the next generation to answer the call and take their place in the long line of family storytellers.

That, is why I do my family genealogy, and that is what calls those young and old to step up and put flesh on the bones.
